Provisional truth is a methodological approach to knowledge-building which acknowledges the fluidity and open-ended nature of truth. It acknowledges that every inquiry or analysis will contain elements of uncertainty and incompleteness, and that truth is not a static and immutable point of fact, but is subject to revision and adaptation as new knowledge is gained. Provisional truth seeks to promote a constructive engagement with truth, continuously striving toward improved versions. Rather than requiring absolute certainty, provisional truth provides a space for genuine dialogue and honest exploration.
